are you leaving me?

ok, i know i haven't been that attentive to my blog lately, but gimme a break. first, my stats went down for the first time since i started my blog. then someone took me off of their favorites list. gosh. that seems kinda fickle, but then again, i've been residing in the happy-happy-friendly midwest, so i'm going to look at it as a fluke because it's labor day weekend (link provided for my international friends). that's just the kind of person i've become.
i've come to the conclusion that if i relocated here i must open a produce stand. basil and flat-leaf parsley just shouldn't be that hard to find. this is america for chrissakes. i would also buy stock in what seems to be the only "health food" store in town; they charge an arm and a leg and for that, i salute them.
i was able to find my beloved sambal olek at a (the?) asian market down the street, thank god. i can't live without that stuff. i think the asian store owners got a kick out of the round eye buying it.
it looks like i'll be heading west on tuesday. i say "looks like" because i've learned that nothing with insurance companies is certain. my dad has stabilized and for that, i'm so grateful. i'm surprised at all the emotions i've gone through during the last three and a half weeks. i will go into that at a later date when i can concentrate for more than five minutes at a time.
have a safe weekend and wear a helmet if you happen to find yourself on a motorcycle.

I've had some people take me off their fav lists. One of them seems to add me, then kick me, then add me, then kick me...and you know, it's one of those whose comments are really stupid and superfluid. And when I think of her alt tag description to my link...blech. As if we were the best friends. We are not.
My point is, don't take it serious. For once, they can do as they like, and then, if they took you off, they may not have been too interesting themselves? Have they ever left a comment here?
Stats...if you are writing to entertain the masses, then stats are important. Otherwise... it's a nice thing to watch. Those who stay away because you seem to write about what really moves you lately...are they really interested in you as the person? I don't think. From what I have learned about you the time I've been coming to your site, you don't fit those who want entertainment and the gossip'n glamour in life.
Labour Day in the Midwest...well? Make the best out of it, my better half just said they have hearty BBQ food on LD.

I just saw Nigella use sambal on roasted chicken on Forever Summer yesturday! I've seen sambal in the asian grocery store, but I'm sucha sriracha sauce fan, I've yet to try it. I'll pick some up next time.
And I am not leaving...
And I'm really happy to hear your dad is doing better.

Ok, I'm Asian and I had no idea what sambal is. Is that wrong?? As for stats going down...it's a holiday weekend! I think that accounts for a lot of down stats. Also, yay for dad stabilizing, and yup, insurance can be quite an interesting factor in a lot of what we can/'t do...take good care and hope you enjoy the weekend!!

Ha! I was just dropping in to see how you and your dad were doing and to copy your url so I can add you to my favorites. I've been neglecting my site lately and I'm in the mood to udpate.
The midwest feels like a foreign country to me when we visit my in-laws. But it's fair I guess because sometimes I'm treated like a foreigner while in Wisconsin.
I'm so happy to hear your dad is stable, and that you might be returning home soon.

Boy can I relate, I got dropped from two favorite lists! I guess that's what happens when you go totally underground for a month. I haven't been reading my daily blogs so much lately but am now caught up. I am sorry to hear about your dad's accident, but am glad he's going to be okay. Thanks for your kind words about my recent loss, it really helps. And I'm glad you've enjoyed airlinemeals.net. It's pretty sad but I spent an entire afternoon checking out meals on every single airline. Take care and hope you get home soon!
