she and my husband share a habit of sleeping with their eyes open. yes. it's as creepy as it looks (on both of them).

My dad's greyhound does that, too. And usually he's on his back, legs in the air, tongue hanging out. Corpse pose. Weird.

My husband does the same (though not in such a wide-eyed way as your dog) - definitely creeps me out.
