stella mccartney skin care.

i have a loyalty problem with my skin care products. i know it goes against convention, but i like to change it up frequently and try new lines. trouble is finding vegan-friendly products. to this end, i'm pretty excited about stella mccartney's new skin line "care." since she is a vegetarian, she has created a line that is not only free of animal-derived ingredients and chemical preservatives, but is ecocert-certified and (mostly) organic. the downside? they're pretty pricey (cleanser, 35; toner, 35; moisturizer, 76), but there is a "discovery set" with four trial-sized products for 38 that i'm tempted by. has anyone tried it yet?

• herb-infused vodka. i'm a vodka gal, but tend to stay away from flavored vodkas. that stated, these aromatic vodkas i read about at slashfood are intriguing. available in rosemary, dill, cilantro and fennel from here. 29.99.
  

• garden lights. a romantic touch for your outdoor space. 34.99.

• pretty face mirror. look at your pretty face with the pretty face mirror by allymoon. 4.
  

• park boot from novacas. i think we're still in boot season, right? 109.95. 

• pop-out pendant. part of the "how do you wear a drawing?" project by melissa borrell, pop-out this pendant and pop it on! an interactive accessory — love it! 30.

here are my favorites for this week.

• toddler beach cover-up. it's never too early to start thinking of sun safety, especially for your little ones! 38.
  

• ginger nectarine soy candle. i'm really particular about candles. i only want soy. i don't want it to smell too much (no glade air freshener scent, puhlease!) and i want it to sit in a minimalist vessel. this candle meets all requirements and has made me one happy mipmup. mini, 8 or tall, 22.

• botanical glasses. mixing these into our plain glassware would add a nice punch at the dinner table methinks. set of six, two of each pattern, 59.
  

• the world's coolest diaper bag. seriously. how cute is this? €180. 

• leaf scarf. i really love scarves and while i was super-thankful to receive a bounty of vintage scarves from my mom recently, i think this one would be a great addition to my growing collection. 60.

• honey rough neck vase. small, handmade vases: perfect accents for the mantel. 30.

• mushroom kitchen timer. i love mushrooms! and timers! 12.
  

• fruity fun sticker sheet. marilyn patrizio is one of my favorite artists of late. this is just one example of her extremely cute cuteness. 2.50. 

• pure and natural animals. organic cotton toys made in germany. to die for! 14.

things i can't get out of my head.

i've been putting our newly-acquired dvr to good use. i'm certain i've lost half my brain cells already and i can't get these things out of my head:

• the cookie party song from "the sarah silverman program."
• what's going on with paula abdul on "american idol."
• why "top design" is so boring.
• wow. hdtv really does bring out the wrinkles.
• "today" has the most commercials i have ever experienced. thank you, fast-forward button. thank you.

friday favorites.

• wooden game. looking for a unique toy store? meet oompa toys, home of european and european-inspired toys and such, including this extra-cute snail game. 39.99.
  

• biscuit + cake tins. would be perfect for giving away all the baked goods i'm busy making lately. £16.

• stumpy the bear cub jr. i just want her. 25.
  

• good dog ball. george makes my favorite cotton lead, embroidered with "good dog" and now i can get my ball-obsessed dog a little something to match. set of three, from 15. 

• colorful baking cups. having been laid up on the couch this week with a mini-flu, i saw these featured on "martha" and think i should order some (see aforementioned blurb about baking - don't worry, not when i'm sick, silly). there are so many great designs! i really love these brown and gold cups, too. 60 pieces, 4.49.
