here are my favorites for this week.

• spring trench. i have a lot of trench coats for some reason. i just love them. this one is extremely tempting. 128.
  

• "i can't decide" dishware. i'm not sure if these are cool or if they remind me of an intestine or something. discuss. 25.

• binth stationery. absolutely gorgeous designs. i wish i could create such beautiful artwork. single card, 4.50.
  

• panton junior chair. do they make these for big kids, too? set of two, 230. 

• possibly the world's cutest bunny. flopsedy, mopsedy little bunny in time for a happy spring. 21.99.

recycling cosmetics.

i'm ashamed to report that i have a basket filled to the brim with old cosmetics. some items i hold onto for fairly ridiculous sentimental reasons ("i wore that bronzer on our honeymoon!") and others because i can't let go of the cost factor ("i paid how much for that les quatre ombres de chanel?"). that said, i know i need to purge. question: how can i recycle these cosmetics? all of this stuff is past its prime and safe usage period, so i don't want to convert it to a lipstick or blush or anything i'd wear. any thoughts?

here are my favorites for this week.

• modern spirits vodka. with flavors like grapefruit honey, black truffle, candied ginger and celery peppercorn, this vodka seems intriguing, even to a non-flavored vodka loving gal such as myself. bonus: they're a member of slow food! 25.
  

• malin + goetz. i'm a sucker for packaging and while their packaging is probably a little too close for copyright comfort for kiehl's, i really want to try them out. i'm thinking a tad of the cilantro hair conditioner would do my body good. 22.

• orange overcoat. i have a thing for coats. and orange. you see where this is going. 168.
  

• kamio sweet pudding stickers. pudding surely is sweet! 2.25. 

• "in the meadow" note cards. adorable card indie-designed with "sparkly aqua envelope!" what could be better than that? six cards, 8.50.

had my knives sharpened yesterday.

including my beloved tomato knife (which i basically use for everything).

loved the local vendor who did it. appreciative. a true craftsman. friendly. reasonable.

gabbing with him, i stated (with great authority, mind you) that sharper knives are safer knives.

used said knife last night.

to slice my finger nearly in two.

gotta love murphy's law.

it might be true love.

have i mentioned that i'm always after the ideal hand cream? my requirements include:

• non-greasy
• actually moisturizes
• does not have a strong scent
• vegan
• not tested on animals
• not chemically-laden
• affordable

i may just have found it via a new brand i discovered at whole paycheck. it's the organic hand savior by ikove, a line by florestas. not only does the company use organic and natural ingredients, but also supports fair trade and sustainability. the lotion meets all of my requirements and since my skin resembles well-worn leather right about now, i'm anxious to put it to good use. the hand savior retails at about 11. hallelujah.
