i grew this: cherry tomatoes + spicy peppers.

Gardenbounty_2

earlier this summer, i planted a potager, or kitchen garden in my backyard. since i tend to have a bit of a black thumb, i started small with a 4x4 space. i had a bunch of extra bricks laying around, so i used them to hold in about four large bags of soil. from there, i planted corn, cucumbers, three different types of tomatoes, squash, a variety of pepper plants, italian parsley, marjoram, sage, dill, basil and lots of flower seeds. since i worm compost, i use the "tea" for pest control and the compost to enrich the soil. i haven't manged to kill off much so far and today we harvested our first reward.

we're happily eating very, very local.

want to build your own? it's not too late. a potager garden is meant to change seasonally, so you can start one anytime. and if i can do it, you definitely. can. it took me 15 minutes at the garden store to find the plants and i built the potager and got them in the ground in about an hour.

If you would like, I have on my blog a picture of my tomatoes on the balcony :-) There is nothing better than having your own vegetables :-) If I had a garden, I would have a lot of plants and fruit trees there:-) But I do not have, so I try to make one, even in smaller size. I love plants and gardening :-)
